Here's a little more about AnxietyKO®
Beat anxiety. Live your life.
AnxietyKO is a free resource for people looking to combat stress and generalised anxiety. Our conviction is that anxiety can be proactively managed and kept in check through a combination of exercise, nutrition, appropriate therapy and healthy living. Of course, it's not easy to do as we are all different and anxiety comes in so many different guises. However, with patience, discipline and hard work, we believe most people can learn to manage their anxiety and get on with their lives.
The self-care and wellbeing tips, ideas and suggestions found on the site are based on personal experience and research. So who am I?
My name is Lindsay and I am the founder of AnxietyKO. I’m a qualified Personal Trainer and Gym Instructor with experience in sports and health coaching. I graduated from the University of Sussex in the UK, where I majored in the role exercise and sports can play in supporting young people with ADHD. My own journey with anxiety started with being diagnosed with dyslexia at 8 years old, ADHD at 14 years old and generalised anxiety at 18 years old. During that time I was prescribed various medicines including Ritalin and Elvanse, none of which helped me. In my early twenties, I started a programme of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which had a positive effect. However, the biggest breakthrough came when I took up exercise and healthy living. Over time, I developed and honed a positive regime of daily exercise and nutritious meals. The effect was remarkable allowing me to control my anxiety and get on with my life. My goal now is to share my experience and professional insights with others.
